As a sixteen-year-old sophomore in high school, I was in my momma's kitchen every day after school fueling my eccentric drive for entrepreneurship by making chocolate covered strawberries and cheesecake stuffed strawberries as a way to make money for myself. In 2017, I created a social media page for my products and a simple online logo called, "Barron Express." I knew nothing about business, much less that entrepreneurship was my calling. Fast forward to 2020, I married my beautiful wife, Sarah, and she fanned into flame my since birthed dream of owning a business of some sort. We tried starting a business by selling the chocolate and cheesecake stuffed strawberries a year into marriage to make ends meet. It did not hit and we had one customer a week. In December of 2022, I took a job that I felt that I was supposed to take. We started selling the strawberries again on the side, about a year later than the previous time, due to the pay cut I took with the job. I wanted to update the "Barron Express" logo and social media page from five years ago and make a logo with more effort. I changed the name to "Barron Express Bakery," and made a post. This journey has reminded us of the Bible passage, Genesis 8:8-12 below. Like Noah, we sent our dove out, we tried our business and it came back to us with nothing. After a period of waiting, we sent out the same dove again and it came back to us with an olive branch, Barron Express Bakery. We sent the dove out a third time, six months after starting our bakery and landed our storefront. That was it. Barron Express Bakery was our olive branch. After six months in a storefront, we lived and we learned, a lot. 2023 taught us to always catch the curve ball, no matter what. Being adaptable is a strength. In 2024, we wanted more freedom, so we expanded into the full service catering field and rebranded to “Barron’s Bakery & Catering.” Explosion in business is an understatement. 2022 seems so far away now as we are an established catering company along the Gulf Coast with so much more to come. We are a Nappie Nominated company and the same family of four that you read about at the beginning of this story has now turned into five and we are still the heartbeat of Barron’s. We firmly believe that Barron’s is “Where food becomes a centerpiece.” We look forward to serving you.
